The Huawei Watch 5 was launched late last month, with a starting price of RM1,799. Despite the launch though, it was not immediately available, and interested customers could only place their pre-orders instead. Now, the smartwatch is readily available on store shelves, real and virtual.
In case you missed it though, the Huawei Watch 5 launched in two sizes – 42mm and 46mm. This then corresponds to screen sizes of 1.38 and 1.5 inches respectively, but both share the 466 x 466 screen resolution. They all come in stainless steel cases, but the larger models do get titanium variants. For battery life, the smaller model has a range of between three and seven days, while the larger one stretches it to between four-and-a-half and 11 days.

A key feature with the Huawei Watch 5 is the Multi-sensing X-TAP tech, which is the combination of the ECG, PPG and tactile sensors bundled into a side-mounted module. This is claimed to provide more accurate health readings, and allowing readings such as HRV and SpO2 from the fingertip. X-TAP also supports gesture controls like double taps and double slides, for features like taking calls, or arguably the more useful of the lot, operating the camera on the connected phone remotely.
To reiterate, the Huawei Watch 5 has a starting price of RM1,799 for both 42mm and 46mm models. These are for their most basic colour variants, which are white and black respectively. The smaller model does also get Beige and Sand Gold colourways which cost RM1,999 rand RM2,699 respectively, while the larger model gets Purple and Silver, also for RM1,999 rand RM2,699 respectively.
