While it recently upgraded one of its unlimited prepaid plans, CelcomDigi has now scrapped its previous lineup altogether and introduced the new NX and UV plans. One of the new quota-based plans is slightly cheaper with more data while the “unlimited” plans now come with uncapped speeds and higher Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limits.
To start with, the Prepaid 5G NX 25 is similar to the previous RM25/month plan as it offers 40GB of 100Mbps data and unlimited calls, but now the entire quota can also be utilised with hotspot. On the other hand, the new Prepaid 5G NX 35 package includes 100GB of 100Mbps data with hotspot usage and unlimited calls.
As for the “unlimited” offerings, the Prepaid 5G UV 30 plan includes 100GB of internet with hotspot usage capped at 18Mbps as well as unlimited calls. The most expensive prepaid option, the Prepaid 5G UV 40, is packaged with a 200GB quota with 24Mbps-capped hotspot usage and unlimited calls.
Notably, the NX prepaid plans are valid for 30 days while the UV plans have a shortened validity period of only 28 days. This means that in the long run, those using UV will have to renew more often as they get 24 less days of validity within a year.
