Back in February, Adobe released its Photoshop mobile app for iPhone. Now, the company is introducing a version of the image editing software for Android users. Currently, the app is in a beta state, but it is available for download on Google Play.
To entice users to try out the app, the company is offering all of the features for free during the initial beta period. This includes Photoshop’s core tools such as selections, layers, and masks, as well as the Firefly-powered generative AI features like Generative Fill. Additionally, advanced tools including Remove and Clone Stamp, which are premium features, are also available for free.
However, there are features currently missing, given the fact that the app is still in beta. An obvious example of this is the paint tool, which many would consider to be an essential part of Photoshop. Additionally, based on some of our own testing, loading assets on the app can take a while, especially for larger files. These issues will likely be ironed out in future updates as Adobe continues to refine the app for a proper release.
Of course, the full version of the app will likely keep its premium features locked behind a paid subscription, so users may as well take advantage of the beta while it lasts. The app is available for devices running Android 11 or later, with a minimum of 6GB of RAM. Adobe recommends at least 8GB for optimal performance.
