Xiaomi has announced that its upcoming tablet, the Redmi Pad 2, will officially be coming to Malaysia soon. No date has been given for the local launch yet, but the budget tablet is set to be unveiled globally later this week on 5 June 2025.
The Pad 2 will succeed the original Pad from way back in 2022, which will introduce a new design as well as updated specs. While some features are still being kept under wraps, the company has revealed that it will sport a slightly larger 11-inch 2.5K 90Hz LCD display and that it will run on a MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra chipset along with a 9,000mAh battery.

Several leaks came out last month and if the reports are to be believed, the Pad 2 will be fitted with a 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. Its charging speed is still unknown.

Retailer listings revealed that in Europe, the tablet will be offered in Wi-Fi only and 4G variants, with 4GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB configurations, although as of now, it is unclear which variants will be offered in Malaysia. For reference, its predecessor retailed with a starting price of RM899.
