Huawei has unveiled a new entry-level smartphone called the Nova Y73, which seems to be the global version of the China-exclusive Enjoy 80. Compared to last year’s Nova Y72, it gets a smaller but improved screen, a similar camera setup, a bigger battery, and according to rumours, the same chipset underneath.
The Nova Y73 sports a 6.67-inch 720p LCD display with a higher refresh rate of 90Hz as well as a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Inside, the budget phone reportedly runs on the 14nm Kirin 710A from 2018, but as always, the brand does not officially disclose the SoC of its phones. For durability, it adds an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.

On the optics front, it gets the same 50MP main camera and 8MP selfie shooter, but the macro lens from its predecessor has been stripped off. Powering it is a larger 6,620mAh battery with support for faster 40W charging. Connectivity-wise, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC.

The pricing and availability of the Huawei Nova Y73 have yet to be confirmed. However, given that it has already been listed on its global website, there is a chance it might eventually be released in Malaysia.
