vivo is said to introduce its next flagship foldable, the X Fold5, some time in the next few months, with a tentative launch window in July. While the company has not announced anything concrete yet, the upcoming foldable has made an appearance on the SIRIM database, indicating that it will be coming here soon after its official unveiling.
The X Fold5 was listed on the SIRIM database with the model number V2429 on 27 May 2025. Excitingly, this will be the first time that the brand will be bringing one of its foldable smartphones into the Malaysian market.
Skipping the X Fold4 name, the X Fold5’s key specs have already been leaked ahead of its launch. If the leak is to be believed, it will feature a 6.53-inch LTPO OLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while its main display will uses an 8.03-inch AMOLED panel that also has a 120Hz refresh rate.

The foldable is rumoured to measure only 4.3mm in thickness when unfolded and 9.33mm in its folded form. Under the hood, it could run on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset as the X Fold3 Pro and will apparently be powered by a larger 6,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 30W wireless charging. For imaging, it will reportedly sport a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and two 32MP selfie snappers.
