Google has announced the release of its new AI filmmaking tool, Flow, which is powered by the brand’s latest AI models: Veo, Imagen, and Gemini. As of now, it is currently available exclusively to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra plan users in the US, with “more countries coming soon”.
According to Google, Flow has “exceptional prompt adherence”, and can create cinematic outputs that excel at both physics and realism. Users can either use their own assets to create characters, or Imagen’s text-to-image capabilities. This tool has been claimed by Neowin to take inspiration from OpenAI’s Sora.
Once a user has created a subject or scene on the Google Flow tool, there is an option to integrate it into different clips and scenes consistently. A scene image can also be used to start a new shot. Neowin states that the videos created can be downloaded, upscaled to 1080p, or downloaded as GIFs.
The tool also comes with a range of features. There are Camera Controls for different motion, angles, and perspectives, and Scenebuilder to edit and extend shots. There is also an Asset Management feature to manage different assets and prompts, as well as a Flow TV. Google AI Pro subscribers get 100 video generations per month. While Google AI Ultra users receive the highest usage limits and early access to Veo 3 with native audio generation, though no specific number was mentioned for this tier.
