Leaks featuring an alleged prototype of a 360-degree camera by action cam and drone manufacturer DJI have surfaced online. Thanks to tipsters hakasushi and Igor Bogdanov (aka @Quadro_News), details, images and even a Quick Start Guide of the alleged device were shared on X for all to see.
Based on the materials provided, the DJI 360-degree camera – speculated to be called the Osmo 360 – is shown sporting a compact, squarish design with two 180-degree cameras on its front and rear. It is also revealed to be roughly 6.5cm wide and 9cm tall, while its thickness (though not specified) looks to be around 2cm or so. An LCD display is also visible on the back of the device.

Other noticeable features include a tripod mount on the bottom, and a battery compartment on the side. hakasushi believes that the Osmo 360 could use the same battery type (interchangeable) as the DJI Action 3, 4 and 5 models. Additionally, the camera’s leaked Quick Start Guide includes mentions of microSD storage, a USB-C port for charging and data transfer, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.

It is unclear whether a finalised version of the Osmo 360 is actually in production. Separately, DroneXL’s Jasper Ellens speculates that DJI might not bring this camera to the market. The device leaked is a prototype after all, and the chances of it never exiting this phase is plausible.
