It is a known fact that Chery’s sub-brand iCAUR (or iCAR in China) will be debuting its fully electric vehicle in Malaysia. Recently we reported that the 03 will be coming but it seems like it will be joined by the V23 as well.
This was confirmed by the automaker through a social media announcement. Both these models will be launched during the Malaysia Auto Show 2025 (MAS 2025) that is happening next week.
The iCAUR V23 recently made its official debut as the company’s global model at the Shanghai Auto Show that happened last month. Before the launch, let’s take a recap about both these models.
The iCAUR V23 is a rugged-looking SUV that comes in both rear-wheel (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). The RWD variant comes with two battery options: a 59.93-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack with a range of up to 401 km (CLTC) and an 81.76-kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery with a range of up to 550 km.
It also features a 136 PS (100 kW) motor delivering 180 Nm of torque. As for the AWD version, it only utilises the NMC battery and has an additional front motor with 75 horsepower and 112 Nm of torque with a maximum range of 501 km.
The dual motor gives an output of 211 PS and 292 Nm of torque. The pricing range for the iCAUR V23 in China is CNY 109,800 to CNY 149,800 (~RM66,000 to ~RM90,000).
Now going to the iCAUR 03, it also comes with both RWD and AWD variants. Both the variants feature LFP batteries. With a 184 PS motor that generates 220 Nm of torque, the RWD version has two battery options: 50.63 kWh with a range of 401 km and 65.69 kWh with a range of 501 km.
A 95 PS front motor is added to the AWD version, increasing the total power to 279 PS (205 kW) and 385 Nm of torque. Both the 65.69 kWh and 69.77 kWh battery packs for the AWD variant have a 501 km range.
As for design, the iCAUR 03 features a boxy and tough appearance which gives the car a strong road presence. It also has a distinctive, easily identifiable character thanks to its striking style.
