realme has officially unveiled the GT 7, its vanilla flagship that is a companion to the Pro model, in China. While it does swap out the Snapdragon chipset from the Pro for a MediaTek SoC and it lacks a telephoto lens, it compensates by having a significantly larger battery capacity and a higher refresh rate to make up for it.
The GT 7 sports a 6.8-inch 2800×1280 AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a peak HDR brightness of 6,500 nits, and a global peak brightness of 1,800 nits. Internally, the phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus chip along with support for 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. For durability, it comes with an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.

On the imaging side, it features a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 16MP sensor up front. Powering the flagship is a massive 7,200mAh cell with support for 100W charging as well as bypass charging. Notably, it also gets an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner, just like the Pro.
The GT 7 gets a starting price of CNY2,600 (~RM1,569) for the base 12GB+256GB configuration. While the brand has yet to announce any details about the phone’s global release, rumours are already circulating that the global variant will come with different specifications, possibly with a downgrade to a Dimensity 9300 Plus instead.
