The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was slated to launch sometime this month. However, the brand has now reportedly postponed its release to May 2025 at the earliest. The phone, which is rumoured to be Samsung’s slimmest smartphone, was teased earlier this year.
Initially planned for a release on 15 this month, Samsung has delayed the launch of the S25 Edge to either May or June this year. This was apparently reported by the company itself to telecom carriers that will sell the phone in South Korea.
According to a report by ETNews, the delay of the product is not due to its quality issues, but was decided in consideration to the recent passing of Samsung’s former co-Ceo, Han Jong-Hee. The company is also said to not be hosting a large-scale launch event for the upcoming phone. Instead, the launch will be held as an online event, wherein the price and the official release date for the S25 Edge will be revealed.
The Samsung S25 Edge is claimed to be priced at around KRW1.5 million (~RM4,566) for the 256GB version. It will supposedly feature a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen, similar to the S25 Plus, and house a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
Also listed is a 3,900 mAh battery, and a 200MP + 12MP dual camera system at the back, with a 12MP selfie-shooter. It might also come in three colours: black, blue and silver. Samsung is said to be manufacturing roughly 3 million units of the phone. As 37 million units of the Galaxy S25 series are planned to be shipped, the S25 Edge could make up around 10% of the total shipments.
