Someone in China appears to have gotten their hands on a rare species of AMD’s Radeon RX 9070. By that, we’re of course referring to a model wrapped up in a reference shroud.
A user on the Chinese forum, Chiphell, posted pictures of the reference shroud RX 9070, who claims that they managed to purchase the card through what we’re assuming are back channels. The design of the OEM card looks a lot like the Radeon RX 6700 XT and 7800 XT.

For the uninitiated who are wondering why the hype around a 9070 with an OEM shroud, it’s because AMD simply chose to leave the cooling solution of its new RDNA4 GPUs to board partners, and not ship out any reference designs to the market.
That said, the card is proof that AMD did make such a card, even if it wasn’t meant for the public eye. At a glance, it’s a 2.5-slot card, and comes with the usual fare of DisplayPort and HDMI ports. Interestingly, the Radeon logo at the back predates the arrival of RDNA, further confirming that this card wasn’t meant to be distributed to the general consumer.

The person who bought the 9070 also tested it, and in Furmark, the GPU was maintained at 67°C after eight minutes of testing.
