Bolt, one of the latest e-hailing platforms to enter Malaysia, has introduced a new feature that allows users to schedule rides. Similar to its competitors like Grab and AirAsia Ride, it allows customers to book a car in advance, offering a wide range for you to reserve your ride.
With the schedule feature, users can book a ride up from 30 minutes to 90 days in advance, whereas the earliest you can schedule through Grab is one hour and 15 minutes. Moreover, you can cancel up to one hour before the trip free of charge. If you cancel within an hour before the scheduled time, you will be charged a cancellation fee of RM10.
The app also mentions that scheduled rides come with longer waiting times when the driver arrives. if you make the driver wait more than five minutes for you, the ride will be automatically cancelled.
Bolt was one of four new e-hailing apps that began operating in Malaysia last year, with the other two being Lalamove Ride, GV Ride, and Kumride. Unlike its competitors, Bolt automatically chooses the route for you when you book a ride and then includes any applicable toll fees into the fare, ensuring no hidden fees.
