Transport minister Anthony Loke has announced plans to integrate the My50 monthly public transport pass with Touch ‘n Go (TnG) eWallet, allowing commuters to renew their passes digitally without needing to queue at LRT station counters. This integration, expected to be completed by the end of this year, aims to enhance user convenience and improve the overall experience for public transport users in Malaysia.

“I’ve also requested that Prasarana Malaysia Bhd integrate the My50 pass with the Touch ‘n Go e-wallet, reducing the need to queue at LRT station counters,” he said during a press conference after a briefing session with Prasarana. “In the next few months, this integration with Touch ‘n Go will be completed, making it more convenient for users by next year.”

As announced during the Budget 2025 tabling last week, the government has allocated RM216 million to support the My50 initiative this year, ensuring its continuation and further expansion. Loke mentioned that the number of users is expected to grow next year with the opening of the new LRT 3 line, which will likely attract more commuters to adopt the My50 pass.

Since its launch in 2019, the My50 pass has seen a significant rise in users. The transport minister stated that 226,000 people are actively using the pass as of September 2024, more than double the 98,000 users recorded when the initiative first started. He also emphasised the affordability of the My50 pass, highlighting that it costs commuters less than RM2 per day to travel from home to work within its 30-day validity period.
