Tecno has officially launched the Camon 30S in Malaysia, marking the return of the Camon series here since the Camon 19 Neo in 2022. The new entry-level smartphone comes with a UV-sensitive colour-changing backplate, but this is exclusive to the Nebula Violet variant, which shifts from purple to blue under sunlight.
Aside from the colourful design, the Camon 30S sports a 6.78-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, as well as an under-display fingerprint scanner. Internally, the phone runs on a MediaTek Helio G100 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. For protection, it comes with an IP53 rating for dust and water resistance alongside Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the screen.
For photography, it features a 50MP main camera with OIS, two secondary sensors, and a 13MP front snapper. Powering the budget device is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W charging. On the software side, it ships with HIOS 14 based on Android 14 along with several of the brand’s in-house AI feature. Connectivity-wise, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC.
The Camon 30S retails at RM749 with violet and black colour options. However, the brand is currently offering the smartphone at a promotional price of RM627 on its Shopee store.
