Earlier this month, we found out that the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE 8.7 had received approval from SIRIM and shortly after, it would retail at a starting price of RM599 for the Wi-Fi model and RM699 for the 4G model. Starting today, the tablet is available for purchase via the brand’s authorised stores on mi.com, Lazada, and Shopee.
In conjunction with its availability, Xiaomi is offering an early bird promotion, starting today until 1 September, offering a free Redmi Pad SE 8.7 cover worth RM149 with every purchase of the tablet, regardless of the SKU. While stocks last, obviously.
Note that the Redmi Pad 8.7 SE will be available three memory and storage configurations. Specifically, both the Wi-Fi model with 6GB+128GB and the 4G model with 4GB+64GB retail for RM599. With the latter model, there is an early bird price of RM549, instead of the free cover. As for the 6GB+128GB SKU, that’ll retail for RM699.
As a quick refresher, the Redmi Pad 8.7 SE sports an 8.7-inch 1340×800 LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz as well as a peak brightness of 600 nits and scratch resistant glass. Underneath the chassis, the tablet runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset.
