If you’re an audiophile and retrophile, then you may want to be on the lookout for Fiio’s DM13. Essentially a modernised version of Sony’s “Discman,” the brand is planning to launch the product within September this year.
The DM13 offers up to eight hours of playback on a full charge and includes a desktop mode for direct power usage without relying on the internal battery if it’s connected to a permanent power source.
According to GearNews, it also includes a SPDIF output. This could well be integrated into a home stereo system of those brands if its format supports either of those transmissions.
Moreover, the player comes with a 3.5mm single-ended output as well as a 4.4mm balanced output as it functions with a wide range of headsets or even speakers with auxiliary inputs. But even with its Bluetooth connectivity, it can easily connect to wireless headphones or even Bluetooth speakers that emphasise the sound quality overall.
The portable player will be available in an array of colours including red, blue, titanium, and black within the following year. And it will be released in the US for $179 (RM837) and in the UK for £179 (~RM1,083).
