E-commerce platform Lazada recently announced the introduction of new return and refund policies in Malaysia. According to a report by Bernama, the new policies aim to allow customers to enjoy a more flexible and worry-free shopping experience.

In a statement, Lazada said customers in Malaysia can now enjoy several major benefits. These include a 30-day simple return policy for all purchases done through LazMall and Choice, whereas its ‘Change of Mind’ policy now includes a wider range of products and categories on all of its platforms. Meanwhile, items delivered by non LazMall stores have to be returned within seven days after purchase.

Eligible returnable items include those that are defective or damaged, incorrect, or are falsely advertised. When returning them, customers must ensure that the items are in their original conditions and packaging, have their tags intact, and are unworn, unwashed and/or unaltered.

Besides that, Lazada said it is also offering faster refunds as soon as orders are returned to its logistic partners via drop-off or pick-up. It insists that the new streamlined process would reduce the waiting time and ensure customers receive their refunds without delay. The e-commerce platform added that for certain cases, customers would be refunded immediately after initiating the return process.

Lazada’s new return and refund policies somewhat mirror those offered by its closest e-commerce rival, Shopee. The difference being that the latter requires customers to return items to sellers within 15 days of order delivery date instead of 30.
