vivo has officially launched the Y28s, the latest entry in the affordable Y-series. Last week, it was revealed that the 256GB variant of the phone would retail at RM999, but it turns out that that’s only a limited-time promo price for its launch.
The Y28s is available in brown and purple colour options with a total of two storage and RAM configurations being offered. It starts from RM799 for the base 6GB+128GB model while the 8GB+256GB trim costs RM1,099. However, the 256GB variant can be purchased for RM999 starting today for one month.
To recap, the Y28s sports a 6.56-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 840 nits. Inside, the budget device runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. On the protection side, the phone comes equipped with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
For imaging, the entry-level smartphone features a 50MP primary camera alongside a 2MP depth sensor on the back, while the tear-drop notch on the front houses an 8MP shooter. Powering it is a cell with a 5,000mAh capacity that supports 15W charging.
