With Computex 2024 underway, one of the brands showcasing their products is Kingston, with new memory and storage products to showcase. Two of the highlights though fall on the former category, with one being a CAMM2 module, and another being a limited edition version of something it announced two years back.

Getting the limited edition item out of the way first, this is a racecar-themed version of the Kingston Fury Renegade DDR5 RAM. White the stick itself comes in a fitting red-and-black colourway, the RGB strip on to is still capable of the usual rainbow lights as the normal version of the module. But being a special edition is not all just about the way it looks too, as it actually boasts higher speeds, rated at 8,000MT/s as compared to the 6,000MT/s and 6,400MT/s of the base version.

The company says that this limited edition version of the Kingston Fury Renegade DDR5 RAM will come in kits of two 24GB modules for 48GB in total. That being the case, the company did not mention when it will be made available, nor what its asking price is.

But perhaps more exciting than that is the appearance of the Kingston Fury Impact DDR5 CAMM2 module. The new memory form factor, which allows it to sit flat against the motherboard rather than perpendicularly, allowing it to take up less space while also having higher transfer rates. The company also showed the new module sitting on two different motherboards, but we did not have the opportunity to see what it looked like underneath, and ditto the socket on the motherboards. Incidentally, the module being showcased has a 32GB capacity.

On the more conventional side of things, Kingston also showcased an additional colour option for the XS1000 external SSD, which was first announced last year. And finally, there’s an M.2 2280 SSD that Kingston has revealed, referring to it only with its codename of Kenting Bay. On the surface, this may be an alternative to the brand’s own Fury Renegade SSD. It would likely be a more affordable option, as it has its read / write speeds rated at  6,000 / 5,000 MB/s. Capacity options will come in a range from 500GB to 4TB.
