Astro has reached out to Lowyat.NET to confirm the changes following Disney+ Hotstar’s recent subscription update. The good news is that not only will there be no pricing changes come 24 April 2024, the company added that all plans that feature the service will also be upgraded to the new Premium tier at no additional charge.

“All Astro customers with Disney+ Hotstar bundle/Add-on will be moved to the Disney+ Hotstar Premium Plan, with no changes to their current subscription pricing starting 24 April 2024,” Astro’s updated FAQ reads. “The new Disney+ Hotstar Premium Plan includes 3 concurrent streams, 10 maximum device logins, maximum video quality up to 4K Ultra HD (compatible devices required), and streaming on phone, tablet, laptop and TV.”

According to the same FAQ, Astro packs that offer Disney+ Hotstar include the Movies Pack (RM94.99/month), Movies Plus Pack (RM129.99/month), Premium Pack 1 (RM129.99/month), Premium Pack 3 (RM154.99/month), and Platinum Pack (RM194.99/month). Additionally, the company noted that customers who are not on the above Packs may upgrade to them to receive complimentary access to Disney+ Hotstar Premium.

For those who want the streaming service on its own, Astro added that its quarterly option is still available at the same price of RM54.90 per three months. Much like the aforementioned packages, those subscribed to this will also get Premium at no additional cost, therefore saving them 30% over the new pricing set by Disney+ Hotstar.

However, the three-month plan is the only standalone option which Astro is offering at this time. In other words, there’s no way for customers to opt for the monthly or annual Disney+ Hotstar Basic or Premium plans while subscribed to the company.
