Car accessory brand Trapo today has launched its first ever dashcams, the i-SIGHT T-550 and i-SIGHT T-350. Both of which offer advanced features such as high-resolution recordings, voice-activated commands and built-in GPS, and are also powered by super capacitor battery technology.
The first from the series is the Trapo i-SIGHT T-550, which is touted by the company to be the premium model amongst the two. It consists of dual cameras: a front-facing shooter that’s capable of recording up to 4K (3840 x 2160 px) resolution, and a rear one that can capture videos in FHD. In terms of storage, the device comes with a microSD card slot to store all of your recordings. Features-wise, the T-550 offers voice-activated commands, built-in GPS that provides the precise location of your recordings, as well as three capture modes for parking: Normal, Time Lapse, and Collision Detection.
As mentioned earlier, powering the dashcam is a super capacitor-based battery technology which is claimed to offer 42% better heat endurance compared to lithium-based batteries. Trapo says this enhances the device’s longevity and reduces the need for frequent battery replacements. You can also choose to use the T-550 together with the optional MC01 hardwire kit, which offers a Battery Drain Protection feature that automatically deactivates the battery once its voltage reaches the selected threshold in order to prevent it from running flat.
Next up is the entry-level Trapo i-SIGHT T-350 dashcam. This particular model only offers front-facing video recording capabilities at a lower, but still decent 2K (2560 x 1440 px) resolution. Like its high-end sibling, it too comes with voice-activated commands, built-in GPS, microSD card support, three recording modes for parking, super capacitor-based battery technology, and MC01 hardwire kit compatibility.
Also making its debut today is the new Trapo mobile app that’s designed to be used together with both i-SIGHT models. With this, you can both store and review your recordings, as well as view footage from either dashcams in real-time. The app is now available via Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The new Trapo i-SIGHT T-550 and i-SIGHT T-350 will be available for purchase exclusively via the brand’s official Lazada store page from 6 October 2023 onwards. The former is set to retail from RM549 for dashcam only, while the latter starts from RM219 for the same configuration – both are also offered with a 1-year warranty. Trapo adds that customers may choose to visit its installation points in Bangsar, Cheras, Glenmarie, Melaka Raya and Mid Valley Southkey Johor Bahru for assistance in setting up their new dashcams.
