Just as promised by the company earlier this week, realme has officially launched its new entry-level C51 smartphone in Malaysia, and is now available for purchase. Unlike its counterpart that was released in India earlier, the phone is only offered in a single memory configuration for the local market.

The new realme C51 sports a minimalist design; featuring a flat-edged frame, a rear panel with a two-tone finish and an iPhone-like camera arrangement, as well as notched display. The latter is a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1600 px resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 560-nit peak brightness. Like the C53 model before it, the phone also features the brand’s Dynamic Island-inspired Mini Capsule feature which appears on either side of its notch.

Besides that, it comes with a side–mounted fingerprint scanner, “Ultraboom” loudspeaker, Android 13 via realme UI T, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C 2.0 port, as well as dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC support. In terms of colour options, the newly launched handset is available in Mint Green and Carbon Black.

Under the hood, the realme C51 is equipped with a Unisoc Tiger T612 chipset, 4GB RAM (expandable up to 8GB via virtual memory) and up to 128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 2TB via microSD). Meanwhile, powering it is a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging, which the brand claims is able to top up 50% of its capacity in just 28 minutes.

As for imaging, found on the back of the phone is a double camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary sensor and a 0.08MP depth sensor. Despite looking like a triple shooter setup, the third “lens” is actually the phone’s onboard flash unit. Flipping the device over, found within the water-drop notch sits a 5MP selfie camera.

The realme C51 is available now in Malaysia via the brand’s official Shopee, Lazada and TikTok store, while walk-in sales via its physical outlets as well as authorised retailers will only commence on 28 September onwards. In conjunction with its launch, realme is offering the new entry-level smartphone at a special price of only RM529 for a limited time until 8 October 2023. Once the promotion period ends, it will revert back to its original retail price of RM549.
