realme Malaysia has announced that its entry-level C51 smartphone will be launching for the local market later this week. While its actual pricing has yet to be revealed, the company is hinting that the upcoming handset will be offered at a very attractive price range starting from approximately RM500. However, it is worth noting that some local retailers have already listed the phone to be priced at RM549 for the highest configuration.

The phone was initially spotted on SIRIM’s database in late July this year, and also had recently launched in India earlier this month. Sans the two-tone finish on its rear panel, the new C51 smartphone sports a design language that closely resembles the brand’s C53 model that was launched locally in June. It too features a flat edged frame, the Dynamic Island-like Mini Capsule feature and an iPhone-like rear camera arrangement on its back, though the third “lens” actually houses a flash unit instead of a sensor.

Based on its release in India, the realme C51 features a flat 6.70-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1600 pixels resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 560-nit peak brightness. It also features a side–mounted fingerprint scanner, loudspeaker, dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, Android 13 via realme UI T, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C 2.0 port. The company notes that NFC support is also offered, but depending on market/region availability.

Under its hood is a Unisoc Tiger T612 chipset that supports up to 4G connectivity, along with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. realme notes that the RAM capacity can be expanded up to 8GB via the onboard Dynamic RAM Expansion tool. Besides that, the C51 model comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging.

Imaging-wise, helming the phone’s dual camera setup is a 50MP primary sensor, which is paired together with a 0.08MP depth sensor. Meanwhile, situated within the water-drop notch on its display is a 5MP selfie camera.

As revealed by realme Malaysia, the upcoming C51 model will be offered in two colourways: Mint Green and Carbon Black. More information regarding the smartphone, especially regarding its pricing and availability, will be revealed by the company this Wednesday on 27 September 2023.
