Maxis has just unveiled a range of new plans which will finally give its users access to the faster 5G network. According to the telco, the upgraded plans – which are slated to go live tomorrow on 15 August 2023 – will feature more than double the data for both 4G and 5G, along with additional bonus data for the latter.

“We are excited to bring 5G plans to our customers following our shareholders’ approval at the EGM today, and the subsequent signing of the Access Agreement with DNB,” Maxis CEO Goh Seow Eng said in a press statement. “Our plans offer attractive value for all segments, with a focus on affordability and adoption so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of 5G.”

The telco notes that access to the faster network will be offered under its individual and business plans. More specifically, these include Maxis Postpaid, Business Postpaid, Hotlink Postpaid and Prepaid, as well as Home WiFi.

The first of which will range from RM79 to RM199 per month, offering 4G/5G data up to 200GB, bonus 5G data up to 100GB, as well as unlimited calls and SMS. Maxis says that it is also updating its Zerolution device plan to include a wide range of 5G devices with either an instalment plan of 24 or 36 months with 0% interest.

Business Postpaid customers will also enjoy the same benefits as mentioned above, as well as additional Productivity Data of up to 100GB and digital marketing solutions in their company plan subscriptions. Additionally, a monthly rebate of RM10 for up to 12 months on any of its 5G postpaid plans is also offered to both new existing customers who wish to upgrade.

Meanwhile, the new Hotlink Postpaid with 5G will be available at RM70 per month with 70GB of 4G/5G data and 35GB of bonus 5G data. Hotlink Prepaid customers, on the other hand, will get to enjoy 5G internet passes from RM45 per month for 50GB with 25GB of bonus 5G data via the new Pantas Pass, which is also offered as low as RM15 per week for 15GB + 10GB bonus 5G data. Maxis adds that youths below 24 years of age can enjoy 20% cashback on the purchase of any monthly internet pass under its Hotlink brand.

Last but not least, the telco says both existing and new subscribers of Maxis Home WiFi will experience better home internet connectivity under the RM158 monthly plan with unlimited 4G/5G speed. It assured that signing up for this package also includes a premium 5G-enabled high-speed router, which is capable of supporting multiple users and devices.

Existing Maxis and Hotlink customers can upgrade their plans via the telco’s website, official Maxis or Hotlink app, or by visiting the nearest Maxis Centre. The company adds that it will provide further information for each of the newly unveiled 5G plans on its website tomorrow by 12pm in the afternoon.
