Xiaomi has announced the latest addition to the Redmi Note lineup, the Redmi Note 12T Pro. A follow-up to last year’s Note 11T Pro, the phone is equipped with a custom chipset developed by Xiaomi and MediaTek and it brings back the high-refresh-rate display from its predecessor.
The Note 12T Pro sports a 6.51-inch 1080p LCD panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz and support for Dolby Vision as well as Dolby Atmos for the speakers. For protection, it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass alongside an IP53 rating for dust and water resistance. On the software side, it ships with MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
The upcoming Note runs on the Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset, which has similar specs to the regular Dimensity 8200 except with a custom image signal processor (ISP) designed by Xiaomi and the chipmaker. The SoC is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The rear features a triple-camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. Up front, the punch-hole cutout houses a 16MP selfie snapper.
As for the battery, it is powered by a 5,080mAh cell with support for 67W fast charging. Connectivity-wise, the Note 12T Pro supports NFC, Wi-Fi 6, 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, and it even has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Xiaomi is offering the phone in three colour options, namely black, white, and blue.
The Redmi Note 12T Pro starts from CNY1,599 (~RM1,039) for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, CNY1,699 (~RM1,104) for 8GB+256GB, CNY1,799 (~RM1,169) for 12GB+256GB, and CNY1,999 (~RM1,299) for 12GB+512GB. As of now, it’s still unknown whether the device will be available in other markets. That being said, there are rumours that it might be rebadged as the Redmi K60i for the global markets including India.
