Redmi has decided to release another variant of the Redmi 10A, a phone that was released a few months back. The new configuration makes the entry-level device even cheaper than last time while maintaining most of the existing internals, but packs a smaller memory configuration than the higher-end variants.
Previously, the 10A was only available with either 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage or 4GB of RAM and 128GB. Now, the smartphone can be purchased with only 2GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 32GB for those on a very tight budget.
Of course, you’re not limited to just the amount of internal storage regardless of which configuration you purchase, as the phone has a microSD card slot for memory expansion that supports up to 1TB. Under the hood, it still runs on the eight-core MediaTek Helio G25 chipset.
The Redmi 10A sports a 6.53-inch display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a dot drop notch on the centre top of the screen. For security, the phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as the option to unlock the device using your face. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery which is advertised to provide two days of battery life, though it only supports 10W charging through a microUSB port.
On the back of the phone, you’ll also find what seems to be a two-camera array, but is actually just a single 13MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front is a 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera. For audio, there seems to be only one bottom-firing speaker that isn’t likely to sound amazing, but you can circumvent that by using headphones instead as it has a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Redmi 10A is available in black, silver, and grey. The new base model with 2GB of RAM and 3GB of storage costs RM429, while the 3GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB variants are priced at RM479 and RM549 respectively.
