It looks like the flagship-tier OnePlus 10T isn’t the only smartphone from the company that launched this week. Quietly making its debut for the global market is the new Nord N20 SE entry-level handset, which has recently been added on China-based e-commerce website AliExpress.

Based on the images and spec sheet uploaded to the platform, it appears that the newly debuted OnePlus model is a rebranded A57 4G from fellow BBK-owned brand OPPO, which was launched in Malaysia two months prior. Despite sharing similarities in terms of design and internal hardware, the newer Nord N20 SE does feature some differences, especially for the software and imaging side of things.

To start things off, the OnePlus Nord N20 SE features the same notched 6.56-inch LCD display with 720 x 1612 pixel resolution and a maximum brightness of 600 nits. It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a stereo speaker system, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As for colour selection, the company is offering the global version of the device in either Blue Oasis or Celestial Black.

Again, much like the OPPO A57 4G, the Nord N20 SE is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G35 quad-core chipset, which is paired together with an IMG GE8320 GPU, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a microSD. It also features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and runs on Android 12 out of the box. Being a OnePlus device for the global market, its operating system is handled by the company’s Oxygen OS 12.1 platform instead of ColorOS.

Powering the phone is a 5,000mAh battery, which comes with 33W SuperVOOC fast charging support via USB-C. With this, OnePlus says that the battery can regain 50% of its capacity with only 30 minutes of charging via the included 33W charger.

The most significant change to be found on this model is its imaging system. While the OPPO equivalent features a 13MP primary camera, the Nord N20 SE instead comes with a larger 50MP shooter. This is accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor for portrait or bokeh shots. Meanwhile, housed within its display’s “waterdrop” styled notch is an 8MP front-facing camera.

If you don’t mind importing, the OnePlus Nord N20 SE is now available to order via AliExpress for RM 681.73, sans shipping. Or alternatively, you could choose to wait for a while longer. According to our friends over at Amanz, the new OnePlus entry-level smartphone has been spotted in SIRIM’s database, which means that it might see a launch in Malaysia sometime soon.
