Xiaomi today has officially launched its latest flagship, the Mi 11 in Malaysia. The launch also marked the official arrival of Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 in our market as the Mi 11 is the first phone to feature the new high-end processor over here.

In case you missed our earlier reports, the Mi 11 is equipped with a 6.81-inch AMOLED WQHD+ display that has a 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. In addition to having the support for HDR 10+, the brightness level on Mi 11’s display can go as high as 1500nits while it also has 10-bit colour depth and DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage.

Photography-wise, the Mi 11 relies on a 108MP camera as its main tool which is being accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide camera and 5MP telemacro camera as well. On the top left side of its display, there is also a 20MP in-display selfie camera.

To help enhance the audio capability of the new phone which supports Hi-Res Audio, Xiaomi has roped in Harman Kardon to tune the dual speakers on Mi 11. Pre-installed with MIUI 12 which is based on Android 10, the phone is also equipped with a 4600mAh battery.

Speaking about the battery, the Mi 11 can support up to 55W wired and 50W wireless chargers. Not only that, users can also utilise the phone to charge other devices through its 10W reverse wireless charging capability.

Before we forget, yes, the Mi 11 in Malaysia does come with an in-box charger in the form of a 55W GaN charger. Also comes standard with 8GB of RAM, consumers in Malaysia can obtain the 5G and Wi-Fi 6 capable phone starting from 13 March 2021 onwards through Xiaomi’s official store on Lazada as well as Authorised Mi Stores and dealers throughout the country.

However, only the 256GB variant which is priced at RM 2,999 will be opened for pre-order first from 25 February to 10 March. As a reward, the first 1,500 pre-order customers will be provided with free Mi Ai Purifier 3C if they purchase the Mi 11 from Xiaomi’s Lazada store and this dedicated pre-order website.

The first 100 customers that register their Mi 11 purchase through this particular website on 13 March will also receive the Mi AIoT Premium Pack. Even though Xiaomi didn’t list down the exact content of the pack, the company said that the pack is worth RM 1,356 while the presentation slide during today’s launch also showed Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop, Mi Smart Speaker, Mi Body Composition Scale 2, and Mi Smart Sensor Set.

As for the Mi 11 with 128GB internal storage, it is priced at RM 2,799 but will only be made available at a much later date. Further details regarding its actual release date in Malaysia will be announced by Xiaomi in due time.
