Porsche Design is not only known for its automotive heritage but also high-end industrial design that extends into other segments of the market including tech products. The company does know a thing or two about designing a laptop but instead of going solo, this time around Porsche Design has collaborated with Acer to come out with the new Book RS.
The laptop features a very distinctive design that includes an all-metal diamond-cut chassis which is accentuated further by the carbon fibre cover on its lid. Despite its feel, Porsche Design and Acer stated that the Book RS weights at only 1.2kg.
Equipped with a 14-inch Full HD IPS touch display that is protected with Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass, the Book RS can be obtained with up to Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor alongside NVIDIA GeForce MX350 graphics. Said to have a battery life of up to 17 hours, the laptop also comes with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB PCIe solid state drive.
Porsche Design and Acer have also produced a set of custom accessories for the laptop including the wireless Mouse RS which mirrors the bold design language of the Book RS by having carbon fibre on its left button and bottom cover. Alongside a carrying pouch made from Ecco Palermo XA leather, there is also a water repellent notebook sleeve that comes with a detachable lid which can be used as a mousepad.
Meanwhile, there is no Malaysian release date for the Porsche Design Acer Book RS at the moment. Same goes for its Malaysian pricing but just in case you need a reference, it has a starting price of USD 1399.99 (~RM 5,800) in the United States. As for the Porsche Design Acer Mouse RS, it will carry a price tag of USD 109.99 (~RM 456).
There is also an option to obtain the mouse as part of the USD 329.99 (~RM 1,368) Porsche Design Acer Travel Pack RS which includes the carrying pouch and notebook sleeve.
