Back in July, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, POCO, launched the M2 Pro in India, which is essentially a rebranded and slightly tweaked version of Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 Pro. Now, the brand has launched the non-Pro variant of the phone, the POCO M2, in India as well.

Specs-wise, the M2 sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display, and is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, 6GB RAM, and a 5000mAh battery. For cameras, the main shooter comprises four camera sensors, including a 13MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. Around the front, the selfie camera is governed by an 8MP AI sensor, hidden in the teardrop notch at the top of the phone.

Additionally, the M2’s charging and file transfer is conducted via USB-C, which also supports 18W fast-charging. For storage, the phone comes with either 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage.

Conveniently priced, you can own the #POCOM2’s 6GB+64GB at ₹10,999 and the 6GB+128GB at ₹12,499 so that #PowerFTW is easy on your pocket. pic.twitter.com/0mHH2wisE9

The POCO M2 has already gone on sale in India, and starts from 10999 Rupees (~RM622) for the 6GB+64GB model and 12499 Rupees (~RM709) for the 6GB+128GB variant. The phone is available in three colour schemes: Brick Red, Pitch Black, and Slate Blue.

At the time of writing, there is no word on local availability and pricing. Considering that POCO also launched its X3 NFC at the start of this week, it’s likely that the brand could wait a while before making the phone available in Malaysia.
