We’re a few weeks away from the newest addition to the DC Universe, Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. I hope the film is as far out and bonkers as its title and judging by the newest trailer, it certainly looks to be a wild ride.
Check out the trailer:
Wait! Hold up. Did Harley Quinn kill The Joker? That’s perhaps the biggest question the latest trailer of Birds of Prey leaves you with. We know that the film will centre around Harley Quinn post-breakup, causing mayhem alongside a gang of equally mischievous women characters like Huntress and Black Canary. However, in the trailer, we see Harley jumping out of a small truck before it chugs along, crashes into a factory and explodes. Was The Joker in the vehicle? Perhaps it’s all in her head.
The official MPAA rating for Birds of Prey is in and it’s rated R (rated-18 in Malaysian terminology). The film earned that rating due to “strong violence and language throughout, and some sexual and drug material.”
Birds of Prey synopsis:
Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.
Birds of Prey is directed by Cathy Yan and stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary and Ewan McGregor as Black Mask.
The film is set hit theatres 6 February 2020.
