ASRock To Replace Fatal1ty Brand Name To “Phantom Gaming”

Reports have emerged regarding ASRock’s plans to replace its “Fatal1ty” brand to “Phantom Gaming.” The company is expected to release all of its gaming-oriented products using this name moving forward. For those who are not aware, ASRock’s Fatal1ty brand consists of the company’s premium components—those which are targeted at the high-end PC market.

The introduction of “Phantom Gaming” was first rumoured to only be used for ASRock’s graphics cards. It seems that is not the case. The Phantom Gaming brand will soon be used for the company’s upcoming Z390-series motherboards. To be more specific, folks at VideoCardz have listed at least 3 different motherboards which the tech website claims to be ‘confirmed’ to be in the works.

These are the Z390 Phantom Gaming 9, Z390 Phantom Gaming SLI/ac, and Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/ac. Those aside, the ‘distinctive’ features that will come with Phantom Gaming Z390 motherboards were not mentioned; we do, however, expect ASRock to carry forward the quality and standards from the Fatal1ty onto its new Phantom Gaming brand.

Regardless, these new Phantom Gaming Z390 motherboards are expected to be released sometime in October 2018, soon after the launch of Intel’s 9000 series processors. It’ll also be interesting to see how this new brand will be able to compete with other premium gaming brands such as Asus ROG and MSI Gaming.
