Leapfrog Launches Entry-Level Sonicgear EVO XI and Sonicbar 3000

If you’re looking for a pair of budget-friendly set of stereo Bluetooth speakers or a soundbar for your home entertainment system, then you may want to give Sonicgear’s EVO XI Bluetooth speakers and the Sonicbar 3000 some consideration.

The Sonicgear EVO XI bluetooth speaker features a 2.1 speaker setup; the system comes with two satellite speakers with 3-inch drivers, with each with a power output of 15W and impedance of 4Ω. The subwoofer has a driver size of 6.5-inches, and an impedance of 8Ω. All together, the EVO XI has a pure system power output of 60W. The frequency response of the entire system is between 45Hz and 18KHz, which is decent.

Besides Bluetooth connectivity, the speaker does come equip with all the usual fare of SD Card support, a built-in FM radio antenna, a auxillary audio port, as well as a USB port for playing songs in MP3 format from. Last but not least, and for aesthetic purposes, the EVO XI features a seven-colour pulsating LED.

Leapfrog Distribution Sdn Bhd, the principal distributor of Sonicgear, says that the EVO XI Bluetooth speaker will be made available in Malaysia at the end of August, and will retail at RM299.

Next on the list is the Sonicbar 3000. As a reminder; this soundbar is basically a budget-friendly audio device. As such, it only carries a stereo setup and not a grand 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound setup.

Specs-wise, the size of the drivers inside the sound bar are set at 3-inches, with each having a power output of 20W and impedance of 4Ω. The frequency range is also quite wide, with a minimum response of 100Hz and a maximum of 20Hz. Also, the speaker is also supports Bluetooth 2.1, allowing you to wirelessly connect your mobile device to the speaker.

Like the Sonicgear EVO XI, the Sonicbar 3000 is also expected to be available in Malaysia in August, but Leapfrog had not provided an official pricing for the product at the time of writing.
