Uber’s services have officially stopped operating in Malaysia and fully transitioned to Grab. Those who want had previously stuck to Uber until its last days in Malaysia will now have to switch to one of the alternative ride-sharing services.
The cut off date for Uber in Malaysia was set for yesterday, 8 April. Which means that today is the first official working day that Uber has ceased operations in Southeast Asia. Although the company has extended this deadline in Singapore for another few days.
Former Uber customers have been advised to download and register an account with Grab, although this is not necessarily the only option available. Smaller ridesharing services like Mula have appeared over the last few months, and may also serve as an alternative solution.
