Local Apple reseller Machines has begun providing the Cupertino mandated battery replacement programme in Malaysia. Those with an iPhone 6 and later can head over to any Machines service centre and get their battery changed for a hefty discount.
It should be noted that Machines’ is charging a little more than the RM129 that Apple originally promised. That said, the discounted price of RM137 is still a lot less than the RM399 price tag that was there before. The difference in Apple’s announced price is likely due to the GST.

This battery replacement programme is meant to correct a problem with iPhone throttling, where iOS reduces processor performance to prevent the device from suddenly shutting down.
That said, Apple is not discriminating with this programme and is offering the discounted price to everyone. Even if they don’t think that the battery performance has deteriorated.
