The most powerful iMac ever is now available in Malaysia. The iMac Pro, designed for a select group of individuals who require the impressive computing power, will retail at a starting price of RM20,999.

Announced at this year’s WWDC, the iMac Pro comes standard with a 27-inch Retina 5K display. Consumers are able to obtain the new system with up to an 18-core Intel Xeon processor ,as well as an AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64 GPU with HBM2-based 16GB VRAM, offering workstation-level performance in the body of an iMac.

The base model iMac Pro will come with 32GB DDR4-2666 ECC memory and a 1TB solid state drive, users can configure up to 128GB of RAM and 4TB of SSD storage. It also comes with a 10Gb Ethernet port and four USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports.

In order to cool down all these powerful hardware, Apple has implemented a new thermal system that is able to provide up to 80% more cooling capacity than a standard iMac. Let’s not forget that the chassis remains the same silhouette as the standard iMac, with 5mm thin edges.

The base iMac Pro with 8-core Intel Xeon W processor, 32GB ECC 2666MHz RAM, 1TB SSD, and a Radeon Pro Vega 56 GPU will retail at RM20,999, which isn’t too far off the $4,999 (about RM20,390) price tag in the US. Users can configure the CPU, RAM, GPU, storage, and even accessories as well as software. Maxing all of this out will yield an iMac Pro that costs a staggering RM61,816.80 – that’s more than five times the most expensive iMac with Retina 5K display. Nobody said cutting-edge technology comes cheap.
