Digi and U Mobile have both announced their pre-order dates for the iPhone X, which will start from 17 November 2017. The device will officially go on sale in Malaysia the following week, on 24 November.
The two telcos are the only parties to have confirmed the dates; the other two major telcos in Malaysia, Maxis and Celcom, have made no announcements so far. Neither have the four authorised resellers (Machines, Mac City, Epicentre, Switch) confirmed, though there is a suspicion they are required to wait for Apple’s direction before making an announcement.
Yesterday, Apple announced that the iPhone X will be available in 13 more countries globally, with Malaysia part of this wave. The press release did not mention about pre-orders for the new iPhone, but given that the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus pre-orders opened one week before they were available in Malaysia, we can expect Apple to do the same for the iPhone X.
The iPhone X will retail for RM5,149 for the 64GB version, and RM5,899 for the 256GB model. It will be available in Silver and Space Grey options, and Apple has confirmed that several accessories will also be available alongside the phone.
