Cooler Master recently announced its Maker Ecosystem at CES 2016. The Maker Ecosystem comprises of three components ranging from the MasterCase Maker 5, MasterAir Maker 8 and MasterWatt Maker 1200. Cooler Master aims to provide gamers and PC enthusiasts with a complete package with its “Maker” product lineup.
MasterCase Maker 5
The first product included in the Maker Ecosystem is the MasterCase Maker 5 PC case. Cooler Master initially launched the MasterCase series back at Computex 2015 with two variants: MasterCase 5 and the MasterCase Pro 5. Now, with the MasterCase Maker 5, Cooler Master is bringing new features that makes it stand out from the previous two versions.
According to Cooler Master, there are now four USB ports (including one USB 3.0 Type-C port) on the front panel of the MasterCase Maker 5. Besides that, the PC case also comes with added fan speeds, LED control button for the fans and redesigned top and front panels to increase airflow and provide better soundproofing. In addition to that, the MasterCase Maker 5, like its two other variants, has a FreeForm Modular System which enables the PC case to be fully customisable.
MasterAir Maker 8
Next, Cooler Master also introduced the MasterAir Maker 8, which is included in the Maker Ecosystem as well. According to Cooler Master, the MasterAir Maker 8 is the first cooler to use its 3DVC (3D Vapor Chamber) technology. Cooler Master went on to say that its 3DVC technology provides up to 19-percent better cooling performance compared to other CPU coolers in the market.
Generally, CPU coolers are treated as a boring pieces of hardware that, although necessary, may be negligible at times. To tackle this misconception, Cooler Master has provided consumers with the ability to customise the looks of the MasterAir Maker 8. Cooler Master mentioned that consumers can freely create a top cover or bracket design for its new CPU cooler. That’s not all, the MasterAir Maker 8 also comes with red LED lights.
MasterWatt Maker 1200
Lastly, Cooler Master has introduced a new PSU (Power Supply Unit) called the MasterWatt Maker 1200. Cooler Master claims that its PSU has an efficiency rate of 94%. Users of the MasterWatt Maker 1200 can also download the CM Connect Mobile smartphone app; it allows consumers to receive digital readouts as well as control key parameters of the PSU.
In addition to that, a logging system is also provided, which records and saves crucial data into the hard disk in case of a power failure. Besides that, the MasterWatt Make 1200 comes with cables that are able to handle high loads along with a seven-year warranty.
Price and Availability
According to Cooler Master, the MasterAir Maker 8 will be available by this month while the MasterCase Maker 5 and MasterWatt Maker 1200 will be on sale in March 2016. Unfortunately, Cooler Master did not provide the price for all the Maker Ecosystem components, and local availability was not announced as well.
