Lazada has introduced its own online payment service called helloPay. Established back in November 2014, it was initially launched in Singapore, Philippines, and Indonesia before making its way to Malaysia this year. Interestingly, Lazada itself has not been publicising this new service; we only found out when shopping on the site.
The service works like PayPal in that users are able to store funds on helloPay and use that to pay for their online purchases. However, there is also the function to save payment information and channel online payments through the service. Essentially making it similar to the Google Wallet in that aspect.
There are four different types of helloPay accounts – guest, unverified, basic, and premium – and each comes with different top-up and single transaction limits. Guest accounts are limited to using the secure payment option and cannot store funds. Similarly, accounts must be verified before they are allowed to use the prepaid function.
