Asus has announced that its G701VI gaming notebook is now available for purchase. The gaming laptop features impressive hardware specifications, which not only makes it powerful, but also VR-compatible. Interestingly, Asus’ latest gaming laptop was initially announced back in September during IFA 2016.
When it comes to aesthetics, Asus’s G701VI gaming notebook features a familiar looking chassis design. The chassis is plastered with a brushed aluminium finish along with a matte black accent found in the keyboard area. Speaking of which, the G701VI also has a single-coloured (red) backlit keyboard.
Display-wise, the Asus G701VI gaming laptop comes with a 17.3-inch LED ‘G-Sync compatible’ display that is capable of refresh rates of up to 120MHz. Oddly, despite its beastly specifications, the display on the gaming notebook has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080.
Hardware specifications is where the Asus G701VI really stands out. For starters, the gaming notebook will come with either the Skylake-based Intel Core i7-6820HK processor or the Core i7-6700HQ processor. In addition, the G701VI is further complemented with an Nvidia GTX 1080 GPU, which of course, makes it VR Ready. Other internal specifications include a 512GB PCIe SSD and up to 64GB of RAM.
Unsurprisingly, like most Asus ROG gaming laptops, the G701VI does come with an eye-opening price. According to the company, its newest gaming laptop will be priced at £3099.99 (about RM15,833). Unfortunately, Asus did not state when the gaming laptop will be made available in Malaysia. More information regarding the Asus G701VI can be found here.
