Microsoft’s now making power banks, too. Say hello to the new Portable Dual Chargers range, which feature two USB output ports and the same output discharge as a wall socket charger.
The new Portable Dual Chargers from Microsoft are offered in three storage capacities: 5,200mAh, 9,000mAh and 12,000mAh; all three, Microsoft promises, are highly portable for any occasion. All three power banks are also fitted with two USB output ports, which is a very useful feature that’s usually omitted from smaller-sized units.
Besides that, all three power banks, bearing the model numbers DC-32, DC-33 and DC-34, have an output current of 2.1A which is the standard output for most wall sockets (with the exception of older sockets and those fancy “fast charge” ones). This is particularly useful, since plenty of cheap, unbranded power banks usually only discharges at 1.0A.
Finally, just like other premium power banks available in the market, the Microsoft Portable Dual Chargers have a simple design with a handsome matte black exterior. Users can monitor the charge left inside the power banks by pressing the power button; four LEDs located above the button will light up based on the percentage of charge left.
The Microsoft Portable Dual Chargers will be available globally over the next few weeks, but only in selected markets. The retail prices are $35 (around RM130), $45 (around RM170) and $55 (around RM205) for the 5,200mAh, 9,000mAh and 12,000mAh models respectively.
