Starting from the 25th of March 2015, OnePlus will raise the price of its flagship killer smartphone – the OnePlus One. The price increase will only affect the OnePlus Ones sold in European countries, in response to the Euro’s plunge against the US Dollar.
However, starting 25th March 2015, the 16GB version will cost €30 (about RM119) more while the 64GB version will have a €50 (about RM198) price increase. Initial pricing for the 16GB and 64GB variants of the OnePlus One in Europe were €269 (about RM1063) and €299 (about RM1181). The instability of the Euro has now affected even OnePlus’ razor-thin profit margins, making the company sell their smartphones below cost. It will continue to sell the OnePlus One at its old price as a one-week notice to European customers, prior to the price change.
OnePlus also stated that its accessories will not be affected by the price hike and price tags remain unchanged. Those interested in purchasing the OnePlus One in Europe have to be quick as they only have until next week to do so.
