Fallout Gaming, the event organisers for the Major All Stars Dota 2 tournament, has released an official statement regarding an incident that occured two days ago during the bracket A qualifier finals, where there was suspicion that cheating has occurred in a match between Natit Gaming and TEAMnxl>.
With the score tied at 1-1, during the final game an unauthorized player, changing his name as “No Coaches”, entered the lobby. Just as the game was about to end, Natit made a pause to enquire on “No Coaches”. The caster, Chubbybunny reported the incident to the management and both teams were contacted to discuss the issue. Fallout Gaming offered an officiated rematch but TEAMnxl> turned down the offer.
The misunderstanding was that TEAMnxl>’s manager thought the match was voided because of his presence in the coach slot. Fallout Gaming reached out to the team and explained the situation to the manager. Re-offering the chance for a rematch, the team’s manager declined the offer and later took to Facebook as well as opening a thread in Reddit expressing his dissatisfaction. However, with TEAMnxl>’s constant rejection of an officiated rematch, the win was officially awarded to Natit Gaming.
So who was the mysterious unauthorized player who basically marred the match? Reddit user, Kenfiasme surfaced and explained how and why he donned the name “No Coaches”. Admitting he saw the password for game three of TEAMnxl> and Natit Gaming, he joined the lobby, took the caster slot and changed his name to “No Coaches”. Amazingly, no actions were taken by any party, and the game proceeded as usual. He later apologised for his actions.
