Polaroid camera lovers, you might want to add this nifty little phone case in your wishlist next year. Prynt, a French hardware startup company, is in the works of making a phone case with a built-in printer a reality. This case will basically turn your smartphone into a polaroid camera.
The current prototype of the Prynt case only holds one piece of paper at a time and prints out a picture in about 50 seconds. Once the hardware is finalised, however, it will hold about 10 to 30 sheets of paper with printing time of less than 30 seconds. That’s the plan anyway.
The Prynt case doesn’t just turn your smartphone into a polaroid camera; it also has a very neat feature that turns the polaroid pictures printed with the case into a video when viewed through the phone’s camera, Harry Potter style. Consumers might find this incredibly creepy or cool, depending on who you ask.
But perhaps the most appealing aspect of the Prynt case is this: it will only cost US$99 once it hits Kickstarter early next year. The case will fit smartphones with 4-inch or so screens, with a mount currently in the works that would accommodate phablets like the Galaxy Note and the iPhone 6 Plus.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Prynt case once it hits Kickstarter early next year. Although there is no word yet if they would ship internationally, chances are it would be made available here one way or another; especially if it proves to be a popular concept.
