Announced back at MWC 2013, the Huawei MediaQ M310 media hub is an interesting gadget that aspires to “bring the family together”. Powered by the same chipset found on the Huawei Ascend P2, this little box extends the functionality of your smartphone or tablet to your big screen in the living room, and is now available at Storekini.com.
The Huawei MediaQ M310 media hub is powered by the company’s in-house HiSilicon K3V2 quad-core processor running at 1.5GHz. There’s 1GB of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage and even a microSD card slot. The MediaQ M310 also features support for dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, and there’s even two USB 2.0 ports, while the microUSB port is used to charge the device, which is only 14mm thick and is roughly the size of a USB card reader.
With the rather powerful hardware onboard, the Huawei MediaQ M310 media hub allows you to do plenty of things with its built-in software. Naturally, there’s a screen-sharing function called Huawei AirSharing, where you can mirror your smartphone or tablet’s screen to a TV connected to the MediaQ or even use them as a remote control for the TV.
The SPDIF/3.5mm earphone stereo jack will also allow you to play music from your smart device to a TV connected to the MediaQ and utilize the TV’s significantly better sound system.
More importantly, the MediaQ M310 also has HDMI-in for your standard Set-Top Box (STB), making the MediaQ a pass-through for all your digital entertainment, effortlessly switching from your digital content from the STB to your smart devices when you wish.
Finally, the MediaQ M310 also aggregates content found on your smart devices and properly arranged when viewed on the big screen, while there’s also a built-in Internet browser and even a YouTube app onboard.
The Huawei MediaQ M310 media hub is now available for pre-order at Storekini.com at a retail price of RM399. For more information about the device, head on to Huawei’s product page here or Storekini’s pre-order page here.
