First announced to the world at CES 2014 earlier this year, the brand new Acer Liquid Z5 has arrived in Malaysia. Looking at its specification, the Liquid Z5 might looked like any other lower mid-range Android smartphone that are abundant in our market.
So, how does the Liquid Z5 differentiate itself then?
First and foremost, let’s take a look at its internal hardware. Spotting a 5-inch display with a graphic resolution of 854×480, the Acer Liquid Z5 runs on 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6572 dual-core processor alongside 1GB of RAM (the sample unit shown here has just 512MB RAM through) and 4GB internal storage. It also support MicroSD card with capacity of up to 32GB.
Furthermore, it also carries a 5-megapixels autofocus camera that is fused together with a F2.4 5-elements and a LED flash on its back and a VGA camera on the front. The electrical power for Liquid Z5 is provided by a 2000 mAh battery.
One of the main feature on the Liquid Z5 is its stereo front-facing speakers that are located on the top and bottom edges of the device. Complete with DTS Audio enhancement, the speakers made the device quite noticeable since there are only a handful of smartphones in the market that comes with front-facing speakers.
With a thickness of 8.8mm, the 147g smartphone is also equipped with another noticeable feature in the form of a button that is positioned just underneath its rear camera. Branded as AcerRAPID, the button acts as quick access for a numbers of operations that users can choose from through the smartphone’s settings section such as to unlock display, play music, snap a picture, run certain app, or answer calls.
The smartphone also comes together with features that were adapted from previously released Acer Liquid smartphones such as the AcerFloat UI which can also be seen on Liquid S2 and the ever helpful Quick Mode that was also present on Liquid Z3S. Before we forget, the Acer Liquid Z5 is equipped with dual SIM capability – a feature that is getting more popular among low and mid range smartphones as of late.
Available immediately from retailers throughout the country, the Acer Liquid Z5 carries a price tag of RM 599.
