Apart from the high end stuffs – Sony Xperia Z2 and Z2 Tablet, Sony also has something for the budget conscious at the on-going MWC 2014 event. Sony also announced the Xperia M2, the best smartphone technology in its class. According to Sony, the Xperia M2 is the slimmest 4G smartphone with the best smartphone camera and largest qHD display in its class.
Touted as a phone that offers blockbuster entertainment and flagship experience at a mid-range price point, the M2 packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor under its 4.8” qHD display with 1GB of RAM. Other specs include 8MP rear camera, Android 4.3 out of the box, 2,300mAh battery, 8GB of internal storage expandable via microSD, NFC, and even offers dual-SIM option. Software wise, the M2 will also come with the same Camera app found in the Z series, offering all the interesting and fun stuffs such as social live, timeshift burst, AR effect, and more.
The Sony Xperia M2 will launch globally from April 2014. The pricing of the M2 hasn’t been mentioned but according to the definitions of “Class” by Sony, it refers to 4G smartphones of less than 220 Euro so expect something less than RM1,000.
