It looks like BlackBerry Malaysia has lowered the price of its BlackBerry 10 devices, once again. And unlike HTC’s recent price revision for its smartphones, BlackBerry’s price drop for the Z10, Q10, Q5 and Z30 is more of a price avalanche: effective immediately, the BlackBerry Z10 and Q5 is now retailing at only RM818 – RM1370 off its launch price last year, and RM981 less than its recent price drop to RM1799 five months ago.

An ad on today’s volume of The Star (pictured above) alerted us on the matter. In fact, a Malaysian member posted in the CrackBerry forums that the same ad appeared yesterday. We’ve reached out to a BlackBerry Malaysia representative to confirm which variant of the Z10 is retailing at this price, since it is not specified in the ad. However, it is likely that both the 3G and 4G LTE variant will be sold at RM818, since the image of the device on the ad shows a “4G” logo. It should also be noted that the Z10 will support the latest BlackBerry 10.2.1 update, allowing for easier installation of Android apps, among other changes.

In addition, the other BlackBerry devices – the Z30, Q10 and Q5 – have all had their retail prices revised. The Q5, as mentioned earlier, will retail at RM818 (from RM1299); the Q10 is now priced at RM1488 (from RM2199); and the Z30 will now be available for RM1799 (from RM1998).

According to BlackBerry Malaysia, the price revision for the Z30 and Q10 have been in effect since January 28, while the price reductions for the Z10 and Q5 were only in effect from February 16.
