Japanese-American Alliance To Replace DRAM

Avexir Core Series RAMs with white LEDs

Some 20 Japanese and American semi-conductor manufacturers are preparing to mass produce the next generation of RAM. The new Magnetoresistive RAM (MRAM) will replace existing memory designs by using magnetic storage elements instead of current flows or electric charges.

This change would allow for RAM that consumes less power, while also increasing capacity and write speed tenfold. Which would make mobile devices both faster and increase battery life; essentially the goal of every new generation of mobile.

There is still a long wait ahead as the alliance only expects to go into mass production for retail in 2018. However, it will be worth it if they can make us a phone that doesn’t need recharging by 7pm.
